Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop library services to support teaching and learning across the school.
  • Promote literacy, reading, and student wellbeing through engaging library programs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
  • Oversee library operations, including stock management, cataloguing, and resource distribution.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and staff on research, information literacy, and digital resources.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase library usage and engagement.
  • Ensure the library is a welcoming and inclusive space for all students and staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of library services and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Senior Librarian or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of library management, literacy promotion, and educational support.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with digital resources and library management systems.
  • Experience in developing and delivering library-based learning initiatives.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
