The Opportunity:

As a Senior Teacher - Leadership Role, you will lead a teaching department at a growing campus, delivering high-quality education to students with complex learning needs. You will play a key role in shaping the educational experience, managing staff, and contributing to the school’s strategic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the day-to-day operations of a teaching department at the Sherwood Manor site.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching with a timetable of 70%, modelling best practices for colleagues.
  • Support the educational progress of students beyond your assigned pupils.
  • Line manage and performance manage identified staff members.
  • Assist in the leadership of the school in the absence of senior leadership.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s strategic plan.
  • Manage transitions for students, including home visits and admissions processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within special education.
  • Strong classroom teaching experience with students with complex learning needs.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Relevant teaching qualification and experience on the Teachers Pay Spine.

Preferred

  • Experience working with autistic learners and those with multiple and complex barriers to learning.
  • Experience with self-regulation approaches in education.
  • Leadership experience in a school setting, including performance management.
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
