The Opportunity:
As a Senior Teacher - Leadership Role, you will lead a teaching department at a growing campus, delivering high-quality education to students with complex learning needs. You will play a key role in shaping the educational experience, managing staff, and contributing to the school’s strategic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the day-to-day operations of a teaching department at the Sherwood Manor site.
- Deliver high-quality teaching with a timetable of 70%, modelling best practices for colleagues.
- Support the educational progress of students beyond your assigned pupils.
- Line manage and performance manage identified staff members.
- Assist in the leadership of the school in the absence of senior leadership.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s strategic plan.
- Manage transitions for students, including home visits and admissions processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a leadership role within special education.
- Strong classroom teaching experience with students with complex learning needs.
- Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant teaching qualification and experience on the Teachers Pay Spine.
Preferred
- Experience working with autistic learners and those with multiple and complex barriers to learning.
- Experience with self-regulation approaches in education.
- Leadership experience in a school setting, including performance management.
- Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
