The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Sciences Teacher - Health and Social Care, Childcare to deliver high-quality lessons to KS4 and Post 16 students. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and contribute to a dynamic and supportive department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and stimulating Health and Social Care and Childcare lessons to students at KS4 and Post 16 levels.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and personal development.
  • Support the wider academy community through collaboration with colleagues and participation in school initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure high standards of learning and achievement.
  • Continue professional development to maintain and enhance teaching excellence.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Health and Social Care and Childcare at KS4 and Post 16 levels.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons and achieve excellent student outcomes.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and vision, with a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrable record of good or outstanding results in previous roles.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Background in science or related disciplines.
  • Experience in curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in pastoral support or student welfare.
