The Opportunity:

As a Social Sciences Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons in Sociology and Health & Social Care to students across Key Stages 4 and 5. This is an opportunity to inspire and support students in reaching their full potential within a values-driven and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Sociology and Health & Social Care across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Develop and plan innovative learning experiences that challenge and enrich students.
  • Provide expert assessment, marking, and feedback to support student progress.
  • Foster strong relationships with students to promote a positive and inclusive learning culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental effectiveness and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of teaching and learning strategies within the school.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including instructional coaching and training.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Social Sciences, preferably in Sociology and Health & Social Care.
  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of love, hope, and trust.
  • Ability to plan and deliver effective learning experiences.

Preferred

  • Experience with assessment, marking, and feedback.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with instructional coaching or professional development programs.
  • Knowledge of cognitive science and evidence-based teaching strategies.
