Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective A Level Sociology lessons to students aged 16 and above.
  • Support students in preparing for A Level examinations and developing critical thinking skills.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs, including those with SEND or additional support requirements.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to enhance motivation and academic progress.
  • Work closely with the school to ensure alignment with teaching standards and student outcomes.
  • Provide pastoral support where appropriate, contributing to a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to enhance the overall student experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree or postgraduate qualification in Sociology or a closely related subject.
  • Strong academic credentials and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Confidence in teaching on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Experience in preparing students for A Level examinations.

Preferred

  • Qualified teacher status or relevant teaching experience.
  • Experience supporting students with PPE, TSA, or UCAS applications.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs or diverse learning requirements.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or related field.
