Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective A Level Sociology lessons to students aged 16 and above.
- Support students in preparing for A Level examinations and developing critical thinking skills.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs, including those with SEND or additional support requirements.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students to enhance motivation and academic progress.
- Work closely with the school to ensure alignment with teaching standards and student outcomes.
- Provide pastoral support where appropriate, contributing to a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to enhance the overall student experience.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good degree or postgraduate qualification in Sociology or a closely related subject.
- Strong academic credentials and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Confidence in teaching on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Experience in preparing students for A Level examinations.
Preferred
- Qualified teacher status or relevant teaching experience.
- Experience supporting students with PPE, TSA, or UCAS applications.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs or diverse learning requirements.
- Postgraduate qualification in Education or related field.
