The Opportunity:

As a Social Sciences Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality lessons in subjects such as Psychology and Sociology. You will inspire students and help them achieve academic success while contributing to a school on a journey towards becoming world class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Social Sciences to students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and personal development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback to help them reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the school's PSHE curriculum.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that support student engagement and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
  • Support the school’s values of PRIDE – Participation, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellence in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Social Sciences.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Psychology and Sociology.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and the removal of barriers to learning.
  • Ability to develop and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Experience of working with students aged 11-18.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a school with a strong PSHE curriculum.
  • Experience of working with sixth form students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for inspiring and motivating students to achieve their best.
