Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons that are engaging, interactive, and aligned with the curriculum.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with SEND, to ensure they can achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and STEM initiatives that promote science engagement beyond the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance in line with school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with a range of needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and across the school community.

Preferred

  • Experience with SEND provisions and differentiated instruction.
  • Familiarity with the Early Careers Package and NPQs.
  • Passion for promoting science and STEM engagement among students.
  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a school setting.
