The Opportunity:
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering specialist assessment and intervention to pupils with complex communication needs. This is a chance to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary team and contribute to meaningful outcomes for students in a dynamic education setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Collaborate with education teams to support pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergent conditions, or SEMH needs.
- Maintain a caseload of pupils, with full support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
- Contribute to staff training and consultation as required, promoting best practices in SaLT.
- Ensure all work aligns with the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working and professional standards.
- Communicate effectively with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to support pupil progress.
- Stay up to date with current research, legislation, and best practices in SaLT.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree or Masters in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Experience working with individuals with complex communication profiles
- Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
- Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
- Experience communicating with families and carers
- Strong relationship building, analytical, and judgmental skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and organisational skills
- Competence in core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
- Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention strategies
- Understanding of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice
Preferred
- Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
- Awareness of the relationship between arousal levels and communication
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary up to £53,200 FTE
- 4 days per week with full pay (subject to probation)
