The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant Level 3 to support students with special needs, including those with Educational Healthcare Plans. This role focuses on promoting learning and developing positive behaviour and social skills for students with Developmental Language Disorders, working closely with teachers, parents, and therapists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special needs, including those with Educational Healthcare Plans, in a resource provision setting.
- Work directly with students diagnosed with Developmental Language Disorders, implementing agreed work programmes under the guidance of senior staff.
- Assist in the planning, management, and preparation of resources in collaboration with teachers.
- Provide supervision of the resource provision during the absence of a Lead teacher or Level 4 Teaching Assistant.
- Liaise with parents, teachers, and therapists to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
- Promote positive behaviour and social skills through structured and engaging activities.
- Contribute to the development of individual learning plans and track student progress.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with the teaching team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience working with students with special needs, including those with Educational Healthcare Plans.
- Experience supporting students with Developmental Language Disorders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and therapists.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to promoting positive behaviour and social skills in students.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience working within a Speech and Language resource provision.
- Knowledge of specialist strategies for supporting students with communication difficulties.
- Experience with the planning and implementation of individual learning programmes.
- Familiarity with educational software and digital resources.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £20,656 - £22,769 per annum.
- Additional SEN Allowance of £1,130 per annum.
- 31.75 hours per week, term time plus 5 days.
