The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant Level 2, you will provide essential support to teaching staff and students, particularly those with special needs. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with students, parents, and therapists, playing a vital part in helping students reach their full potential in a welcoming and forward-thinking school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching staff and students in a variety of learning environments, including special needs support and exam invigilation.
- Work across a range of resource provisions to ensure students receive tailored support.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and therapists to coordinate care and support for students.
- Assist in developing and implementing individual education plans for students with special needs.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent support and communication across the school.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special needs, including those with Educational Healthcare Plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy school environment.
- Understanding of inclusive education and the needs of students with diverse learning requirements.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience with exam invigilation and supporting students during assessments.
- Knowledge of SEN support strategies and best practices.
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Familiarity with educational software and tools used in schools.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £19,075 - £20,656 per annum, plus an SEN Allowance of £1,130.
- 31.75 hours per week, term time only, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
- Flexible working hours with a structured schedule from Monday to Friday.
