The Opportunity:
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will deliver tailored assessments and interventions to pupils with complex communication needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact in an education setting with a strong focus on student well-being and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver bespoke speech and language therapy assessments and interventions to pupils with diverse needs.
- Work collaboratively with the education team and other professionals to support pupil progress.
- Maintain a caseload of pupils, with regular supervision and support from the clinical team.
- Contribute to staff training and provide expert consultation where required.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans based on pupil needs.
- Stay up to date with current research and best practices in speech and language therapy.
- Communicate effectively with families, carers, and other stakeholders.
- Uphold safeguarding standards and ensure the well-being of all pupils.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree or Masters in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered and registered with the RCSLT
- Relevant experience working with individuals with complex communication profiles
- Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
- Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
- Experience communicating with families and carers
- Good relationship building, analytical, and judgmental skills
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
- Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention methods
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car
- Understanding of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice
Preferred
- Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
- Awareness of the relationship between arousal levels and communication
