The Opportunity:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will deliver tailored assessments and interventions to pupils with complex communication needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact in an education setting with a strong focus on student well-being and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver bespoke speech and language therapy assessments and interventions to pupils with diverse needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the education team and other professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Maintain a caseload of pupils, with regular supervision and support from the clinical team.
  • Contribute to staff training and provide expert consultation where required.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans based on pupil needs.
  • Stay up to date with current research and best practices in speech and language therapy.
  • Communicate effectively with families, carers, and other stakeholders.
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and ensure the well-being of all pupils.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree or Masters in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered and registered with the RCSLT
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with complex communication profiles
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
  • Experience communicating with families and carers
  • Good relationship building, analytical, and judgmental skills
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention methods
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice

Preferred

  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
  • Awareness of the relationship between arousal levels and communication
