The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Lay Chaplain to lead the spiritual life of the school and support the faith journey of students and staff. This is a key role in fostering a strong Catholic identity and promoting the school’s mission of growing together in the spirit of Christ’s love.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the spiritual life of the school in line with Catholic teachings.
  • Deliver regular pastoral care and support to students and staff.
  • Plan and lead school-wide liturgical events and prayer services.
  • Provide guidance and support to students on matters of faith and moral development.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to ensure the school’s Catholic ethos is embedded in all aspects of school life.
  • Support the school’s mission statement and promote the values of ‘growing together in the spirit of Christ’s love’.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and the wider school community.
  • Participate in school retreats and other pastoral activities throughout the year.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong personal faith and commitment to Catholic values.
  • Experience in pastoral care or spiritual leadership within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • A relevant qualification in theology, religious studies, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading liturgical services or youth ministry.
  • Knowledge of Catholic teachings and traditions.
  • Experience in working within a school environment with a strong Catholic ethos.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
