The Opportunity:

A Sports Assistant (Internship or Graduate) is needed to support the delivery of a dynamic and inclusive sports programme across all age groups. This role is ideal for those interested in teaching, coaching, or sports administration, offering hands-on experience in a forward-thinking educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the delivery of PE lessons, games sessions, and extra-curricular activities for pupils of all ages
• Coach school teams and contribute to the full competitive sports programme
• Support the smooth running of school fixtures, including refereeing where appropriate
• Supervise students before, during, and after activities, ensuring conduct and safety standards
• Act as a lifeguard for swimming lessons (if qualified)
• Support the setup and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities
• Assist with administrative tasks, including fixture lists, communication, and data management
• Contribute to promoting the school’s sporting achievements through social media

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Enthusiasm for sport and a commitment to supporting young people
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and work independently and collaboratively
• Flexibility to support the needs of the department

Preferred

• Experience in coaching young people or supporting sporting events
• Coaching or lifeguarding qualifications
• Previous experience in education or sports administration
