The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Art and Photography Teacher to cover a maternity leave for one year, starting in September 2026. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on student learning and contribute to a successful and inspiring Art Department. The role is ideal for someone who is committed to fostering creativity, encouraging aspiration, and delivering high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Art and Photography lessons that encourage creativity and critical thinking.
- Support the development of students’ artistic skills and confidence through practical, project-based learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Art Department to ensure a cohesive and high-quality curriculum.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that promotes respect and engagement.
- Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and school-wide initiatives that enhance student achievement.
- Stay up to date with current trends and developments in Art and Photography education.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a shared understanding of student progress and needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Art and Photography education.
- Strong subject knowledge in Art and Photography.
- Experience in delivering creative and engaging lessons to students of all abilities.
- Commitment to student well-being and inclusion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in working within a collaborative and supportive school environment.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation.
- Experience with digital photography and design software.
- Previous experience in a school setting that values professional development and continuous improvement.
