The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Art and Photography Teacher to cover a maternity leave for one year, starting in September 2026. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on student learning and contribute to a successful and inspiring Art Department. The role is ideal for someone who is committed to fostering creativity, encouraging aspiration, and delivering high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Art and Photography lessons that encourage creativity and critical thinking.
  • Support the development of students’ artistic skills and confidence through practical, project-based learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Art Department to ensure a cohesive and high-quality curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that promotes respect and engagement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and school-wide initiatives that enhance student achievement.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and developments in Art and Photography education.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a shared understanding of student progress and needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Art and Photography education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Art and Photography.
  • Experience in delivering creative and engaging lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to student well-being and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in working within a collaborative and supportive school environment.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation.
  • Experience with digital photography and design software.
  • Previous experience in a school setting that values professional development and continuous improvement.
