The Opportunity:

Join a vibrant sports department and contribute to a program known for national excellence and inclusive participation. As a Sports Assistant, you will have the chance to coach, teach, and support students across two core sports, while also playing a key role in pastoral care and co-curricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and officiate in at least two core sports, including Hockey, Rugby, Football, Cricket, Netball, or Tennis.
  • Support academic learning by assisting in your degree specialism and participating in classroom activities.
  • Provide pastoral care by acting as a Tutor, delivering PSHE content, and participating in weekly evening duties.
  • Assist with outdoor education, house competitions, and the wider co-curricular programme.
  • Contribute to the development of a supportive and inclusive sports culture.
  • Support the boarding community and ensure the welfare of students.
  • Promote the school’s values and commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.
  • Collaborate with staff to deliver a high-quality educational experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proficiency in two core sports.
  • Experience working with young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of pupils.

Preferred

  • A 2:1 degree (or above) in a relevant subject.
  • Experience working with both Prep and Senior age groups.
  • Previous experience in a boarding or educational setting.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Annual salary of £18,000.
  • Subsidised housing (subject to availability).
