The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a Sports Assistant to support PE lessons and sporting activities for students from Reception to Year 8. This role is ideal for a graduate looking to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist PE and coaching staff in delivering curriculum and extra-curricular sports
- Support pupils across Reception to Year 8 in a variety of sporting activities
- Contribute to training sessions, fixtures, and competitions
- Umpire, coach, and support multiple sports as required
- Engage fully in school life and uphold the school’s values
- Work closely with PE and coaching staff across the school
- Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recent graduate or a graduate considering a career in teaching
- Coaching or playing experience in two or more of the following sports: Netball, hockey, cricket, football, rugby
- Willingness to gain experience across all core sports
- Professional personal presentation and a friendly, approachable manner
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Preferred
- Strong expertise in one sport with a willingness to support others
- Experience or qualifications in swimming
