The Opportunity:

As a Sports Centre Assistant, you will help maintain a welcoming and efficient environment for students and visitors. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering excellent customer service and has a passion for sports. The position involves working in a dynamic and supportive school setting, with opportunities to coach at the centre and in local primary schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality customer service to visitors and users of the Sports Centre.
  • Support the maintenance of a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility.
  • Assist in the delivery of sports coaching sessions at the Sports Centre and in local primary schools.
  • Manage and monitor the use of sports equipment and facilities in line with school policies.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the shift rota system.
  • Support the smooth running of events and activities held at the Sports Centre.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and equality policies at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and students to ensure a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A positive attitude and a strong commitment to student welfare and safety.
  • Experience in providing customer service in a public or educational setting.
  • Basic knowledge of sports coaching or willingness to learn and develop skills in this area.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or sports centre environment.
  • Experience with coaching or leading sports sessions.
  • Knowledge of first aid or willingness to obtain a qualification.
  • Experience with DBS checks or willingness to complete one.
