The Opportunity:
We are seeking a part-time Counsellor to provide professional and confidential support to students within a supportive and dynamic educational environment. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young people's lives while working as part of a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling services to students within the 11–18 age range.
- Work closely with the Head of Counselling and pastoral staff to ensure a cohesive support system for students.
- Deliver targeted interventions and support strategies to address emotional, social, and academic challenges.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all counselling sessions and student progress.
- Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to support student well-being and academic success.
- Attend school meetings and contribute to the development of pastoral policies and procedures.
- Offer support to staff when required, drawing on experience in working with adults.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of two years post-qualification experience in counselling with young people in an educational setting.
- A recognised counselling qualification to at least Level 4 Diploma level.
- Specialised training in working with young people and child development.
- Ability to work flexibly within a part-time, term-time only schedule.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Preferred
- Experience working with adults in a counselling or support role.
- Experience in providing clinical supervision or receiving supervision.
- Familiarity with school systems and pastoral care frameworks.
- Experience in a similar independent or selective school setting.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on experience (£17,102 - £18,295 pro rata).
- Contribution to monthly clinical supervision (up to 1.5 hours per month).
