The Opportunity:

As a Subject Leader in Computing and Digital Learning, you will lead and inspire a team of passionate educators, driving innovation and excellence in teaching and learning. This role is central to ensuring a forward-thinking curriculum and supporting the continued success of students in a rapidly evolving field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support and motivate a team of teachers to promote professional development and innovative teaching practices.
  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, forward-looking curriculum in Computing, AI, and Digital Learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
  • Promote collaboration and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Act as BTEC Quality Nominee, ensuring the highest standards in qualifications delivery.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusivity and student success.
  • Encourage and develop the use of digital learning tools and resources.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Computing and Digital Learning.
  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, ideally as a Subject Leader.
  • Experience in promoting professional development and collaboration among teaching staff.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and developments in Computing and AI education.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in BTEC qualifications or other vocational pathways.
  • Familiarity with digital learning technologies and tools.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Background in AI or computer science education.
