The Opportunity:

As a Swim Coach, you will play a key role in developing the swimming program for students across the Prep and Senior Schools. You will inspire and guide pupils of all abilities, from beginners to competitive swimmers, while contributing to a vibrant co-curricular program and school events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality swimming instruction to students of all ages and abilities
  • Develop and implement coaching strategies that enhance technical skills and water safety
  • Support the development of competitive swimming squads and prepare students for fixtures and meets
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters enjoyment and skill development
  • Collaborate with other staff to integrate swimming into the broader co-curricular and school life
  • Participate in school events, galas, and inter-house competitions
  • Engage in professional development to enhance coaching practices and stay current with best-in-class techniques
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during swimming sessions

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree and/or recognised swimming/coaching qualifications (e.g. ASA, Swim England or equivalent)
  • Minimum of two years’ coaching experience, preferably in a school or high-performance setting
  • Strong technical knowledge of swimming, including stroke development, technique, and water safety
  • Passion for developing students of all abilities, from learn-to-swim through to competitive levels
  • Commitment to contributing to a broad and ambitious co-curricular program

Preferred

  • Experience working in the UK independent sector or a similar high-performance environment
  • Enthusiasm for professional development and continuous improvement
  • Ability to engage with the wider school community and support school events
