Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Computing and IT across a range of qualifications including GCSE, A-Level, and Cambridge Nationals.
  • Work closely with the curriculum leader and department team to ensure a cohesive and impactful teaching approach.
  • Inspire and challenge students to develop a love of Computing and IT through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results and preparing them for further education and future careers.
  • Contribute to the development of the department’s curriculum and teaching resources.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote student engagement and learning.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Computing and IT to ensure lessons remain relevant and current.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with ECT/MPS/UPS status.
  • Relevant teaching experience in Computing and IT at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computing and IT, including experience with GCSE and A-Level Computer Science.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality lessons and inspire students to achieve their best.
  • Commitment to the school’s vision of 'opportunity and achievement for all'.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering Cambridge Nationals in IT.
  • Experience with AAQ in IT at Level 3.
  • Experience working in a collaborative and supportive teaching team.
  • Experience in developing and delivering innovative teaching strategies.
  • Experience with extracurricular activities related to Computing and IT.
