The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and inspirational Teacher of Computing and IT to join a dynamic and growing department. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing students for the future in an ever-evolving digital world and contribute to a team that values innovation and excellence in teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Computing and IT across a range of qualifications including GCSE, A-Level, and Cambridge Nationals.
- Work closely with the curriculum leader and department team to ensure a cohesive and impactful teaching approach.
- Inspire and challenge students to develop a love of Computing and IT through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
- Support students in achieving excellent results and preparing them for further education and future careers.
- Contribute to the development of the department’s curriculum and teaching resources.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote student engagement and learning.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of Computing and IT to ensure lessons remain relevant and current.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with ECT/MPS/UPS status.
- Relevant teaching experience in Computing and IT at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong subject knowledge in Computing and IT, including experience with GCSE and A-Level Computer Science.
- Ability to deliver high-quality lessons and inspire students to achieve their best.
- Commitment to the school’s vision of 'opportunity and achievement for all'.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering Cambridge Nationals in IT.
- Experience with AAQ in IT at Level 3.
- Experience working in a collaborative and supportive teaching team.
- Experience in developing and delivering innovative teaching strategies.
- Experience with extracurricular activities related to Computing and IT.
