The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals in line with the school’s dietary policies and nutritional guidelines.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and served in a clean, safe, and hygienic manner.
  • Manage the kitchen and its equipment, ensuring it is well-maintained and in good working order.
  • Work closely with the catering team to ensure efficient and effective service.
  • Monitor and manage food supplies, ordering stock as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Support the school’s mission and values, including the promotion of healthy eating and food education.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new menu ideas and seasonal dishes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in catering or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in a school or similar catering environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in menu planning and food preparation for large groups.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and special diets.
  • Experience with food education or involvement in school-based nutrition programs.
