The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use direct instruction and other effective teaching methods to ensure student progress and achievement.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages respect, creativity, and a love of learning.
  • Support the development of students’ reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver cross-curricular projects and enrichment activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing targeted feedback and interventions where needed.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student learning and development.
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in primary education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English, with the ability to deliver a well-sequenced, knowledge-rich curriculum.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos of high expectations, strong behavior standards, and a warm/strict approach.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Experience in using direct instruction and other evidence-based teaching strategies.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with the City of London Academies Trust values and approach to education.
  • Experience in delivering English across the school, including reading and writing.
  • Demonstrated success in raising student achievement and engagement.
