The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to cover maternity leave from June 2026 for one year. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across key stages
  • Support the development and achievement of all students, including those with special educational needs
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school and trust
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of teaching and learning practices
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively
  • Engage with students, parents, and the wider community

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting within an academy trust
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation
  • Familiarity with teaching in a diverse and inclusive environment
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support
