The Opportunity:

As a Teacher of Media Studies, you will contribute to a dynamic department and support the Head of Department in driving student success in A Level Psychology and Media Studies. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes and to grow professionally in a school that fosters excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Department in delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Psychology and Media Studies.
  • Develop and implement evidence-informed teaching strategies that enhance student achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the coaching, quality assurance, and professional development of team members.
  • Engage with students and parents to support student progress and enrichment opportunities.
  • Work across multiple areas of the department, including Psychology and Media Studies.
  • Help maintain the school’s strong ethos of ambition, aspiration, and academic excellence.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including pastoral and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in teaching or supporting student learning at the sixth form level.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take on leadership responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching A Level Psychology or Media Studies.
  • Experience in a second-in-department role.
  • Familiarity with the Sir John Brunner Foundation Multi-Academy Trust.
  • Experience with pastoral and student support.
