The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Faculty Lead - Mathematics, you will play a key role in driving excellence in teaching and learning across the department. This is an opportunity to lead, inspire, and support colleagues while contributing to the development of a knowledge-rich and ambitious curriculum for students in Years 7–11.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Subject Lead in shaping the strategic direction of the Maths department.
  • Lead on a specific area within the department and drive improvements in teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Develop and implement high-quality, knowledge-rich curricula for Years 7–11.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to teaching staff to support professional growth and development.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure consistent standards of attainment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve departmental performance.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of staff development programs.
  • Ensure that all teaching and learning activities align with the school’s values and mission.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Mathematics education.
  • Proven ability to lead and support colleagues in a teaching environment.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design and pedagogical strategies.
  • Experience in teaching across Years 7–11.
  • Commitment to social mobility and student success.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with the Halliard Trust’s values and ethos.
  • Experience in developing and delivering staff training programs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
