The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Visiting Music Teacher - Singing to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of young singers. This role offers the opportunity to teach up to six and a half hours per week, with potential for increased hours, and to be part of a thriving music department that regularly achieves outstanding results in ABRSM and LCM Musical Theatre exams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality singing lessons to students across a range of age groups and skill levels.
  • Support the development of students’ vocal and performance skills through structured and engaging teaching methods.
  • Collaborate with the Music department and other singing teachers to ensure a cohesive and inspiring music program.
  • Prepare and assess students for ABRSM and LCM Musical Theatre exams.
  • Contribute to the success of the school’s choirs, including the auditioned Chamber Choir and other ensembles.
  • Participate in school events and performances, including cathedral evensong and touring opportunities.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and support their progression in singing and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong singing ability and a high level of musical expertise.
  • Proven experience in teaching singing, ideally at a school or college level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the development of young singers and the promotion of music education.

Preferred

  • Experience with ABRSM or LCM Musical Theatre exam preparation.
  • Experience working with choirs or ensembles.
  • Familiarity with teaching students across a range of ages and abilities.
  • Experience in delivering performance-based music education.
