The Opportunity:

As a Social Sciences Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and effective lessons to students at Key Stages 4 and 5. You will contribute to a dynamic department and help students achieve outstanding results while supporting the school’s vision for excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging Social Sciences lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Develop and implement a broad and varied curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results and raising aspirations through effective teaching and pastoral care.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high standard of teaching and learning.
  • Participate in the planning, assessment, and review of student progress.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your teaching practice and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and student support initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow school policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Social Sciences.
  • Proven experience of teaching at Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering high-quality lessons and achieving strong student outcomes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and vision for excellence in education.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching a broad and varied Social Sciences curriculum.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Experience with pastoral support and student welfare.
  • Experience in professional development and training delivery.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technologies.
