The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Teacher of Science to join a successful and highly regarded Science Department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and engage students in a dynamic learning environment, while contributing to the continued success of a school with a strong academic record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons that promote student achievement and enthusiasm for the subject.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student progress and attainment.
- Manage and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the Science Department.
- Support students in developing key scientific skills and knowledge in biology, chemistry, and physics.
- Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and school-wide initiatives.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science.
- Experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE level).
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student achievement and behaviour management.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Science to a range of ability levels.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Experience with using technology in Science teaching.
- Experience with extra-curricular Science activities or STEM initiatives.
