The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Teacher of Science to join a successful and highly regarded Science Department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and engage students in a dynamic learning environment, while contributing to the continued success of a school with a strong academic record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons that promote student achievement and enthusiasm for the subject.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student progress and attainment.
  • Manage and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the Science Department.
  • Support students in developing key scientific skills and knowledge in biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Science.
  • Experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE level).
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and behaviour management.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Science to a range of ability levels.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Experience with using technology in Science teaching.
  • Experience with extra-curricular Science activities or STEM initiatives.
