The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and capable Years 5-8 Maths Teacher to cover a maternity leave position for up to 12 months. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a thriving department and support students in achieving academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Years 5-8 Maths, tailoring lessons to suit the needs and abilities of students
• Provide pastoral care and support for a Year 6 class
• Coach in Years 3-8 sports, depending on experience and expertise
• Prepare students for external examinations at Year 6 and Year 8
• Collaborate with the Maths department to enhance teaching and learning
• Contribute to the development of the curriculum and school-wide initiatives
• Support the school’s commitment to character education and all-round student development
• Engage in professional development and continuous improvement of teaching practices

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Years 5-8 Maths
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver high-quality lessons
• Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care
• Experience in preparing students for external examinations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

• Experience in coaching or leading sports activities
• Previous experience in a similar role or within a school setting
• Demonstrated success in developing student confidence and academic achievement
• Experience with character education or whole-person development
