The Opportunity:

As the Head of Psychology, you will lead the department and inspire students with your passion for the subject. This role offers the chance to shape a dynamic Sixth Form and contribute to a forward-thinking institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Psychology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement a shared vision for the department
  • Support and mentor colleagues to enhance teaching and student outcomes
  • Oversee the curriculum and ensure it aligns with the school's educational goals
  • Promote student engagement and achievement in Psychology A Level
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-faculty initiatives
  • Manage departmental resources and budgets effectively
  • Participate in whole school leadership and strategic planning

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Psychology A Level
  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to collaborative working and team development
  • Passion for Psychology and a desire to inspire students

Preferred

  • Experience in creating and leading departmental strategies
  • Background in whole school or faculty leadership
  • Familiarity with research-based teaching practices
  • Experience with professional development and staff training
