The Opportunity:

As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment across the school’s premises. Your flexible approach and attention to detail will ensure that all areas are consistently maintained to the highest standards. This role is essential in supporting the well-being and comfort of students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas of the school
  • Ensure all rooms, facilities, and common areas are regularly cleaned and tidied
  • Respond promptly to any requests for assistance from staff or students
  • Follow health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Handle cleaning equipment and supplies in a responsible and efficient manner
  • Assist with general maintenance tasks as required
  • Keep records of cleaning schedules and any issues identified
  • Collaborate with other members of the support team to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role, preferably in an educational or care setting
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid PVG/DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Experience in a special needs or educational setting
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands
