The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science to join our team, delivering engaging lessons that inspire students aged 14-16. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with the Key Stage 4 curriculum
  • Support students’ learning needs and promote scientific knowledge and critical thinking
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective teaching strategies and resources
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation
  • Uphold the school’s Catholic ethos and values in all aspects of teaching and learning
  • Participate in school events and enrichment activities to enhance student engagement
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide constructive feedback

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong understanding of science subjects relevant to Key Stage 4 (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS
  • Ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet diverse student needs
  • Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Key Stage 3 or 4 science
  • Experience with continuous professional development
  • Experience working within a Catholic school setting
  • Experience with enrichment activities and student trips
