The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science to join our team, delivering engaging lessons that inspire students aged 14-16. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with the Key Stage 4 curriculum
- Support students’ learning needs and promote scientific knowledge and critical thinking
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective teaching strategies and resources
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation
- Uphold the school’s Catholic ethos and values in all aspects of teaching and learning
- Participate in school events and enrichment activities to enhance student engagement
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide constructive feedback
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong understanding of science subjects relevant to Key Stage 4 (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet diverse student needs
- Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Key Stage 3 or 4 science
- Experience with continuous professional development
- Experience working within a Catholic school setting
- Experience with enrichment activities and student trips
