The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Geography Teacher to inspire students and lead engaging lessons that connect classroom learning to real-world experiences. This role is central to the school’s mission of developing curious, confident learners who are ready to make sense of the world and face future challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons that align with the curriculum and promote student engagement.
  • Support the development and implementation of the school’s extra-curricular programme, including field trips and enrichment activities.
  • Uphold school values and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best approaches.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of whole-school initiatives, including literacy and numeracy strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance in line with school procedures.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to students, promoting positive behaviour and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching Geography at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of Geography curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technology integration.
  • Experience in leading or supporting extra-curricular activities.
  • Background in promoting student wellbeing and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of British values and the ability to model these in the classroom.
