The Opportunity:
As a Food Technician, you will play a key role in supporting Food Technology lessons (KS3 & KS4) and ensuring a safe and well-organised learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and supportive teaching team while upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients, materials, and equipment for Food Technology lessons (KS3 & KS4)
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene regulations
- Maintain and organise food technology classrooms and storage areas
- Support teaching staff during practical lessons
- Manage cleaning, stock control, and safe storage of equipment
- Assist in the implementation of risk assessments and food safety protocols
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth operation of the department
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience as a Food Technology Technician or similar school-based role
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and risk assessments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Experience working within a secondary school environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of Food Technology curriculum and teaching practices
