The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEND, helping them reach their full potential. You will work closely with students, delivering tailored interventions and acting as a key contact for families. This is an impactful role that contributes directly to the learning and development of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEND through individual and group interventions
- Act as a key worker for assigned students, building strong relationships with pupils and their families
- Collaborate with the SEND team to deliver effective, inclusive learning strategies
- Assist in planning and delivering lessons that meet the needs of students
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular updates to the team
- Provide pastoral care and support to ensure the emotional and social wellbeing of students
- Contribute to the development of new provision and strategies for students with SEND
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proactive, patient, and nurturing individual with a commitment to student development
- Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with special educational needs
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students and families
- Understanding of inclusive education and differentiated teaching strategies
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role
- Knowledge of SEND frameworks and best practices
- Experience with behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques
- Familiarity with educational software and tools used in schools
