The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant Level 2a, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ learning and development, particularly those with special needs. This is a part-time position offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in their academic and personal development under the guidance of the SENCO.
  • Assist in the delivery of teaching and learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and motivation.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behavior to support staff and parents.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive learning environments that cater to all students.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support services to ensure effective student support.
  • Assist in the organization and management of classroom resources and activities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity and encourages respect.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a teaching or support role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • A commitment to working with students with special needs and a willingness to support their learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently within a team environment.
  • A positive and proactive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or college environment, particularly within the further education sector.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Experience with curriculum support and classroom assistance.
  • Familiarity with educational software and digital tools used in teaching and learning.
