Teaching Assistant Primary – Temporary, Part-Time Role for One Year

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant Primary to join our team on a temporary, part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners while supporting teachers and contributing to a positive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in accessing learning and managing classroom activities under the guidance of teaching staff
  • Assist with the delivery of lessons and provide one-to-one support where needed
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the needs of all students are met
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behavior
  • Participate in planning and preparation of resources and activities
  • Support the implementation of school policies and procedures
  • Engage with students, parents, and the wider community to promote a positive learning culture

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in a primary school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and support a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to work part-time and on a temporary basis

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role
  • Experience with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices
  • Experience in delivering support across both primary and secondary phases
  • Familiarity with the Delta Academies Trust values and ethos
