The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Temporary Media Studies Teacher to join a dynamic and creative department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a department that values innovation and intellectual rigor in media education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Media Studies lessons to students across key stages.
  • Develop and implement a stimulating curriculum that reflects the evolving media landscape.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, creativity, and technical skills in media production.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Art & Design, Media and Film Department to enhance departmental initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and wider school events.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress in line with school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Media Studies or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students in media production and analysis.
  • Experience in teaching at the appropriate key stages.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering cross-curricular projects.
  • Familiarity with digital media tools and production techniques.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or working with diverse student groups.
  • Previous experience in a Catholic or faith-based educational setting.
