The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Temporary Part-Time English as an Additional Language Teacher to join a collaborative and successful team. This role will support EAL students across a range of courses, helping them to achieve academic success and personal growth in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support EAL students in small groups and one-to-one sessions to enhance their language skills and academic performance.
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with the curriculum and the needs of students.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement teaching strategies that promote student success.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
- Participate in planning and evaluating teaching and learning practices across the department.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
- Contribute to the wider college community through involvement in extracurricular activities and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in English as an Additional Language.
- Ability to deliver effective lessons to a range of students, including those with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Experience working in the school or college sector.
Preferred
- Experience with A Level and GCSE English courses.
- Familiarity with Eduqas and AQA exam boards.
- Experience in supporting students with English as an Additional Language.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and strategies for diverse learners.
