The Opportunity:
The Assistant Principal (Students) will lead and support the pastoral care and inclusion strategies across the school, ensuring students receive the academic and personal guidance they need to thrive. This role is central to fostering a supportive and inclusive community, working closely with senior leadership and pastoral teams to drive positive outcomes for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the pastoral care and inclusion strategy across the school.
- Supervise and support the Senior Pastoral Leads, ensuring effective management of Progress Tutors and student welfare.
- Develop and implement policies that promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment with the school’s mission and values.
- Provide guidance and support to students, staff, and parents on pastoral and inclusion-related matters.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pastoral programs and initiatives.
- Represent the school in meetings, events, and external engagements related to student welfare and inclusion.
- Support the Chaplaincy in promoting spiritual, moral, and intellectual development among students and staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably in a senior pastoral or student support role.
- Strong understanding of pastoral care, inclusion, and student welfare strategies.
- Experience working within a Catholic or values-based educational institution.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant qualifications in education or leadership, such as a Master’s in Education or equivalent.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within a Sixth Form College or similar institution.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing inclusion strategies.
- Familiarity with Catholic education principles and values.
- Experience with international educational partnerships or collaborations.
