The Opportunity:
As a Tennis Coach, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality tennis coaching to students of all abilities. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school with a renowned tennis programme, known for its national success and strong commitment to developing young athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging tennis coaching to pupils of all ages and abilities throughout the year.
- Develop players’ technical, tactical, and physical skills through tailored and thoughtful coaching.
- Inspire pupils to engage with tennis both within the school and the wider community.
- Organise and run taster sessions, internal competitions, and activities to encourage participation.
- Support squad training, fixtures, clubs, and events across the tennis programme.
- Plan and manage fixtures, tournaments, and events with accuracy and professionalism.
- Communicate effectively with parents, providing clear and supportive updates.
- Attend departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing success of the Sports Department.
- Drive the school minibus to fixtures, as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong background in tennis, with competition-level experience.
- Ability to coach pupils across a range of ages and abilities, including high-performing athletes.
- Up-to-date knowledge of tennis technique, conditioning, and safe practice.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, reliable approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and professional conduct.
- Willingness to continue growing as a coach and developing your skills.
Preferred
- Level 1 or Level 2 tennis coaching qualification.
- Experience working within a high-performing, nationally recognised sports department.
- Experience with delivering inclusive and recreational tennis sessions.
- Experience with managing fixtures, tournaments, and events.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly rate starting from £20 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
