The Opportunity:

Join a passionate and dedicated team as a Theatre and Musical Theatre Teacher (MAT Cover) to deliver high-quality teaching in BTEC Theatre and BTEC Musical Theatre. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic, dynamic educator with experience in dance, drama, musical theatre, and singing. The successful candidate will contribute to a department with a strong track record of student success and progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in BTEC Theatre and BTEC Musical Theatre.
  • Support students in developing their skills in dance, drama, musical theatre, and singing.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and events related to performing arts.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the performing arts sector and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Theatre and Musical Theatre.
  • Strong knowledge of BTEC qualifications and the performing arts curriculum.
  • Confidence in teaching across dance, drama, musical theatre, and singing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and inclusive education.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching at the Sixth Form level.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with pastoral support and student engagement.
  • Familiarity with digital teaching tools and resources.
