The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Theatre Manager to oversee the operations of a professional arts venue that plays a central role in both the school and wider community. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving cultural hub and support a wide range of performances and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the theatre, including technical requirements and administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate with internal departments for lessons, events, and projects within the theatre and other arts venues.
  • Ensure the health and safety standards of the theatre are maintained at all times.
  • Promote and support the school’s ethos, values, and mission in all aspects of theatre management.
  • Liaise with external theatre companies, community groups, and performing arts schools for events and productions.
  • Manage a rota to ensure coverage of evening and weekend events as required.
  • Oversee the scheduling and delivery of a full and varied programme of performances, including school events and external productions.
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, including staff, students, and external partners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in theatre management, including managing health and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Passion for theatre and a hands-on, enthusiastic approach to the role.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Commitment to promoting the school’s ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a professional theatre or similar venue.
  • Knowledge of UK Theatre standards and rates.
  • Experience in event management or producing performances.
  • Familiarity with theatre production software or systems.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £35,163 - £38,008, plus additional pay for external shows.
