The Opportunity:

As the Group HR Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience across the Group, ensuring that people priorities align with the strategic vision and long-term objectives. This is an opportunity to lead and deliver a People and Culture Strategy that supports the growth and success of a school with a strong reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive People and Culture Strategy aligned with the Group’s strategic vision.
  • Provide strategic leadership to HR teams across the Group to ensure operational excellence.
  • Strengthen processes and systems to support all staff and enhance the employee experience.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and COO on the development and implementation of Group-wide projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that all HR functions are managed effectively, with a focus on employee engagement and retention.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, and continuous professional development.
  • Support the delivery of organisational goals through effective people management practices.
  • Build strong relationships at the senior level to drive strategic initiatives forward.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience managing complex HR functions within a large organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills at the senior level.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives.
  • Experience in leading and managing HR teams across multiple sites or schools.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and current legislative requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector, particularly within a school or multi-academy trust environment.
  • Strong leadership and change management experience.
  • Experience with employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Knowledge of performance management and talent development frameworks.
  • Experience in developing and delivering People and Culture Strategies.
