The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic maths department as a Trainee Mathematics Teacher, working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This is a one-year fixed-term role, combining practical teaching experience with structured training to develop your skills and confidence as an educator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality maths lessons to students across a range of qualifications, including A-Levels and GCSEs.
  • Work closely with an experienced mentor to support your professional development and growth as a teacher.
  • Participate in weekly training sessions, both on-site and remote, to build your teaching expertise.
  • Contribute to a well-resourced and supportive maths department that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in general practice training and subject-specific training to prepare for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Maintain a reduced teaching timetable, allowing time for training and development.
  • Support the school’s mission of providing excellent education and preparing students for future success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Commitment to gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through the training programme.
  • Passion for mathematics and a desire to inspire students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or education-related roles.
  • Familiarity with A-Level and GCSE maths curricula.
  • Experience with digital teaching tools and resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate in teaching and learning.
