The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic maths department as a Trainee Mathematics Teacher, working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This is a one-year fixed-term role, combining practical teaching experience with structured training to develop your skills and confidence as an educator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality maths lessons to students across a range of qualifications, including A-Levels and GCSEs.
- Work closely with an experienced mentor to support your professional development and growth as a teacher.
- Participate in weekly training sessions, both on-site and remote, to build your teaching expertise.
- Contribute to a well-resourced and supportive maths department that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Engage in general practice training and subject-specific training to prepare for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Maintain a reduced teaching timetable, allowing time for training and development.
- Support the school’s mission of providing excellent education and preparing students for future success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Commitment to gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through the training programme.
- Passion for mathematics and a desire to inspire students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or education-related roles.
- Familiarity with A-Level and GCSE maths curricula.
- Experience with digital teaching tools and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate in teaching and learning.
