The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs and disabilities. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development within a high-performing, supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities in a variety of classroom settings.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCo, and other teaching assistants to plan and deliver tailored learning experiences.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and learning strategies.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor and record student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to school events and extracurricular activities as appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment for all students.
  • Support classroom management and behaviour strategies in line with school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to student welfare and academic success.
  • Flexibility to work across different year groups and subjects.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and SEND support frameworks.
  • Experience with behaviour management techniques.
  • Familiarity with educational software and tools.
