The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs and disabilities. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development within a high-performing, supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs and disabilities in a variety of classroom settings.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCo, and other teaching assistants to plan and deliver tailored learning experiences.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and learning strategies.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students achieve their full potential.
- Monitor and record student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.
- Contribute to school events and extracurricular activities as appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment for all students.
- Support classroom management and behaviour strategies in line with school policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to student welfare and academic success.
- Flexibility to work across different year groups and subjects.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and SEND support frameworks.
- Experience with behaviour management techniques.
- Familiarity with educational software and tools.
