The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic Maths department as a Trainee Maths Teacher, working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) over one year. This role offers hands-on teaching experience, mentorship, and professional development in a well-resourced and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons to a diverse student body.
  • Work closely with an experienced mentor and complete one day of training per week.
  • Support student learning through innovative and engaging teaching methods.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and planning sessions.
  • Develop and implement effective assessment strategies.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to inclusion and Catholic values.
  • Assist in the delivery of the school’s ‘passport to independence’ programme.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
  • UK Degree or equivalent qualification with corresponding ENIC statement.
  • Commitment to train as an active and innovative Maths teacher.
  • Passion for Maths education and a desire to support student achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or education-related roles.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with ITT or ECT programs.

  • Competitive salary at Unqualified Teachers Pay Scale Point 1: £28,342 (inclusive of Inner London Weighting).
