The Opportunity:
As a Transition Caseload Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students through the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3. This role focuses on developing academic and emotional skills, ensuring a smooth and positive transition between primary and secondary education. You will work closely with students, families, and other professionals to deliver impactful interventions and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a caseload of students in developing literacy and numeracy skills through targeted interventions
- Assist students in building confidence and knowledge within the classroom setting
- Collaborate with internal and external agencies to provide comprehensive student support
- Work with the Pastoral, IEN, and wider teams to ensure effective student outcomes
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain high standards in all interactions
- Attend and support key transition events to facilitate smooth student transitions
- Partner with primary schools within the Trust to support identified families
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of GCSE level education
- Recognised qualification or training in at least one area of the curriculum or SEND
- Experience in delivering literacy and numeracy interventions in a KS2 or KS3 setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a high level of confidentiality
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Preferred
- Experience working with students with individual educational needs
- Knowledge of curriculum continuity and transition support strategies
- Flexibility to support the wider IEN faculty and contribute to team goals
- Experience in pastoral care or student support roles
