The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher (Intervention Lead), you will provide strategic leadership to support vulnerable and disadvantaged students, driving improvements in attainment, attendance, and engagement through targeted interventions and evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for whole-school intervention to support vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.
  • Lead and evaluate targeted academic and pastoral intervention to improve outcomes across key stages.
  • Drive a successful Year 6–7 transition programme, working closely with partner primary schools and families.
  • Promote and increase attendance through bespoke strategies and liaison with families and external agencies.
  • Implement appropriate intervention and support to improve the attendance of girls and pupil premium/FMS Ever6 students.
  • Promote engagement of vulnerable and disadvantaged students in enrichment activities.
  • Undertake the role of Educational Visits Coordinator, ensuring safe and inclusive educational experiences.
  • Embed and uphold robust safeguarding practices in all decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven middle leadership experience with a track record of improving outcomes for disadvantaged or vulnerable learners.
  • Strong strategic thinking and effective operational delivery skills.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, attendance, transition, and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills to inspire staff, students, and families.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and social justice.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading whole-school intervention strategies.
  • Experience in managing educational visits and ensuring student safety.
  • Experience with data analysis and outcome evaluation in educational settings.
  • Experience with pupil premium and FMS Ever6 support initiatives.
